  • Information for Readers

    Dear reader,

Welcome to The Queer Scribe! Before you delve into our fiction archive, please take a moment to read the following information.

    1. Our archive is divided into categories, according to genre. It's not rocket science; select a genre you would like to read and find a story you like. You cannot add topics to these forums, but you can comment.

    2. Stories are also tagged. If you find a story you like tagged 'lesbian' and you'd like to read more stories like that, click on the tag and you can scroll through other stories with the same tag. You can search for multiple tags at once, so if you'd like a Mature rated Fantasy story featuring bisexual vampires, you can add all these tags to the tag search field.

You can search by tag by clicking the drop down menu in the Search bar and selecting Advanced Search. Then choose Tags and type in whatever tags you'd like, hitting enter between each tag.

    3. Due to the way our software works, stories appear in the form of forum topics. For your convenience and in order not to clog up the topics, we ask that readers use the Comment button at the bottom of each chapter post rather than posting replies to the thread.

This is in order to make it easier and less disruptive for readers to scroll through the chapters. When commenting, be constructive and respectful. Scribes put a lot of work into their stories. If a Scribe states that they don't want constructive criticism of their story, please respect this.

    4. We encourage leaving likes on stories and chapters you enjoy. Both likes and comments are motivating to Scribes.

    5. Scribes write a Table on Content in the first post of each story, which will link to the chapters as they're posted. Clicking a chapter link will open a new tab and jump to that chapter. Unfortunately, there is no way to open links in the same tab at present; we hope to be able to change this in future.

    6. You can follow stories you enjoy by clicking the Subscribe button on the right above the first post in the topic. You will then receive notifications when new chapters and comments are posted.

    7. If you want to find more stories by an author you liked, you can visit their profile, click 'About' and follow the link to topics they have started; every story they've posted can be found here.

    8. Looking for a story other people have enjoyed? Check out the Reviews forum, where readers can recommend stories they like to other readers. (This forum is not yet up and running.)
